Huntsville - in Ontario's Near North
Located at the northern edges of the
Muskokas, Huntsville is a thriving community. Located just a short 2
hours north of Toronto, the area attracts visitors from across the
province. Beautiful Algonquin Park is close by and the drive through
the area in the fall is spectacular.
Started in 1993, the Huntsville Festival
of the Arts has taken its place in the forefront of the arts festivals.
Initially based on classical music, the Festival has grown to include
dance, theatre and literature. During the month of July, various venues
throughout the area serve as stages for the many festival events.
Accommodations in the area are superb
offering a variety of services and holiday packages. There is the
landmark Deerhurst Resort and the Holiday Inn Huntsville – Hidden Valley
Resort that are renowned throughout the province. No matter your
favorite activity, be it in winter or summer, Huntsville has it and
more: horse riding, treks through Algonquin Park, snowmobile trails,
first rate golf courses and excellent ski hills. And of course, the
Huntsville area is a favorite spot for holding a conference.
The Muskoka area, also known as cottage
country, offers all the amenities needed for the outdoorsman.
