Events

TTRA participates in numerous community events for publicity and fundraising.

We do this in different ways; by setting up information booths, taking pictures with the ponies, giving pony and buggy rides or doing demonstrations with our riders. The following are some of the events we attend:

  • Schumacher Lions Club Sportsman Show
  • South Porcupine Summerfest Sportsman Show, 2002
  • Canada Day Celebrations with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 88
  • Porcupine District Agricultural Society Fall Fair
  • Placer-Dome Employee Picnic
  • Tembec Employee Picnic
  • Timmins Fan Fest Western Village
  • Winter Carnival and Parade
  • Volunteer Information Fair
  • Local Horse Shows
  • Bi-monthly Bingos

A lot of volunteer hours are required before, during and after these events, which can run a few hours to a whole weekend.

We also share in the hosting of the ONTRA (Ontario Therapeutic Riding Association) Regional Games, as well as put on our own integrated horse show.
